Yes, that’s right! I take all my photos with this camera! It’s not fancy but it gets the job done. I am a single mom of two, so I definitely look into budget friend equipment. Now I just take photographs of anything that comes my way. It’s not something I would use at a wedding or even a huge landscape, however, if you are traveling to take photos at restaurants, food, people, or statues, it’s definitely one of the best cameras to use. Phone cameras are nice, but sometimes you can get much better photos with a DSLR. I’m not opting out of getting a more professional camera, but I’m still new at photography and equipment are constantly upgrading and it’s much easier to learn on a basic DSLR than jumping into something bigger and fancier. These are a couple of photos I took.
Now if you are looking into advancing the look of your photos I would suggest getting different lenses. Lenses will make a humongous difference. I purchased another lens for my camera and it made huge improvements to my photos.
Once you have mastered your camera and lens, I would definitely look into a higher-end camera for sure!
LENS IN USE
As a new photographer, I am currently using Nikon AF-S FX NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4G Lens. I purchased this through Amazon and was shipped within a few days. This may be in a mid-price when it comes to the lens, however, the photo outcome is very professional and it is worth the investment. The quality of the bokeh is breathtaking when taking portrait photos. I will be investing in more lenses soon to update more on this page. You can also rent lenses online. It could get costly to purchase all these different lenses when you are a photographer. But If you have a wedding or branding session, it’s not necessarily required to purchase a 2k lens. So there are many other options when it comes to renting/purchasing lenses.
CAMERA STRAP
My Photo sessions can sometimes be longer than an hour. That’s why it’s important to have a camera strap that’s comfortable to wear. My camera can be a little overweight sometimes with the different lenses that I rent. Standard leather straps can be irritating during summer, this is why I chose to invest in one good cloth strap. I purchased this through etsy. Unfortunately, the company I purchased mine originally is not available so I took the time to look for something similar.
60 INCH TRIPOD
Many people ask me how I take photos of myself. Here is half of my answer; having a tripod can come in handy in most cases. For a lot of my influencer friends that don’t have a handy photographer on a daily basis, they have some reliable tripods to take photos. They are easy to carry around and it isn’t heavy. I purchased mine through amazon and it is worth my money.
NIKON REMOTE
The second answer to taking photos of myself is this remote. Weird, I know. However, you will get used to it, especially if you are a big time social media influencer. I took my family photos (including myself) with this bad boy! It not expensive and can be purchased from amazon.
